Lychee calabash with live edge

This lychee wood bowl is 15" in diameter and 5.5" tall. This piece was turned from a crotch section of the tree and was turned to show a bit of the live edge of that space between the branch and the trunk. several pewa or fishhtails were used to maintain the stability of the wood in areas that may be prone to movement. Finished with a Japanese liquid ceramic finish making this a foodsafe bowl.
